  INLAY

The inlay or wooden inlay is a type of processing that is carried out by combining pieces of wood of different types and colors cut so as to match up to obtain designs that reach a remarkable virtuosic complexity. The realization of the cut is entrusted to specialized craftsmen. Until the whole of the 15th century, inlay remained an artistic form practiced essentially only in Italy.

The inlay work is done entirely by hand on a bench in order to guarantee the precision required for the final result.
