The wood of the various species is called khaya, kaya or more often African mahogany or khaya mahogany.
Origin: Tropical areas of West Africa, from the Ivory Coast to Ghana and Zaire.
The plants grow up to 30-35 meters, but they can reach 45 meters and have a trunk with a diameter greater than one meter.
The color ranging from light red to dark red has warm shades typical of Mahogany with golden reflections.
Furniture, musical instruments and coatings in general are produced with wood.
