Cocobolo also known as Granadillo, grows in Central America from Mexico to Panama.
As soon as it is cut, Cocobolo is characterized by a wide range of colors that go from orange to a very deep red with a quantity of stripes also varying from lemon yellow to dark red.
Cocobolo is a rather difficult wood to work and glue due to its oiliness. Cocobolo has more or less the same characteristics of stiffness and hardness as ebony but is characterized by a darker sound due to its oiliness.
